My giving partner for this edition of European Blogging By Post was the lovely and generous Mia from Nosh. Mia is an American living in Munich, Germany, and she filled (and I mean FILLED) my box with an array of items from Viktualienmarkt, an open-air market which Mia says is "smack-dab in the city center".
Without further ado, the contents:
1. A wee bottle of Gruner Veltliner from Kloster-Schluck....mmmm.
2. A fantastic bag of dried mushrooms, which I can't wait to use.
3. A jar of beautiful honey from the Bavarian Forest.
4. Mustard from Rottler GmbH.
5. A package of dried juniper berries!
6. A package of a dried herb called barlauch, which smells absolutely heavenly.
7. Sauerbraten spice mixture...oh, yeah!
8. A jar of some type of berry preserves. homemade Wild Blueberry and Lemon Jam. Jealous? ;-)
9. A lovely, golden, handmade beeswax candle.
10. A garden of petunias in a pop-top can!
11. One incredible truffle from Dallmayr.
What an incredible box to open, and from a friend a haven't met yet even! Mia really knows how to wow a fellow foodie, and I hope to be able to return the favour someday if she'd like anything from the U.K.
If you haven't already, go check out Nosh and say 'hey' to Mia. She's been travelling lately, but she's back now and ready to get cooking again. I can't wait to see what she's got up her sleeve.
Thanks again, Mia...you're the best! Now...what to make?
Hi Moira,
Lucky girl you! =)
I'm glad to see that you're feeling better. Or are you? Can wait to see what you cook up with all those lovely ingredients.

Hey Reid...I'm actually just starting to feel better today- it's been a long slog!

Aww, Moira, you sure know how to make a girl blush. ;) It was really my pleasure and a lot of fun! The jar is from my stash of my own homemade Wild Blueberry and Lemon Jam, a Christine Ferber "Mes Confitures" recipe. While SOME Germans I know don't find it sweet enough, I have a feeling a fellow foodie will appreciate it. Enjoy, and feel better.

Moira, I can be there in 12 hours. ;)
That is a beautiful gift. Kudos to Mia for putting together something so beautiful and imaginative. (I know I should have something better than this to say, but I'll be frank: as soon as I read about the Rottler mustard, my brain just stopped engaging. Mmmmm, Rottler mustard.)
Welcome back, incidentally. :)

Oh, Mia...you are such a sweetheart! I can't wait to tuck into your jam, but I'm going to save it for our first brunch after we move into our new house. Mmmmwaaah!
Hello Miss Bakerina...would that it were so! Someday, in some part of the world, I'll get the chance to entertain you, though- and it will be a great day.
Hi Janet...thanks for stopping by! Michele is great, isn't she?
