We had a simple (and simply delightful) lunch of smoked turkey and cheese baguettes (with the one-and-only Howard's Sweet Pepper Relish on top) on Saturday. I wanted something extra, though, and since my husband is a fool for most things olive-related (O. Oyl is a notable exception), I picked up about 100g of these little beauties at our local Sainsbury's. It's hard to beat the price- 70p/100g- so if you're in these parts, go grab a bowlful for your olive lover. As my husband says, "Nothing wrong with olives...nothing wrong with feta cheese.".
Wherever you are, I hope you had a delightful Saturday lunch as well!
Hi Moira,
Glad to see you back. I love olives, but have never had them stuffed with feta before. I should try to find some as these look really good.
I had lunch at Pyramids today, and as usual, it was quite fun! I should go one night when they have the belly dancers. =)

Yippee! Welcome back, and how yummy those olives look as well. We are also suckers for olives and they are the first things out of the fridge whenever we mix up some pre-dinner drinks.
Thanks for the comps on the pics Moira...hehe, you wouldn't believe how I got some of those shots! Usually I like to photograph in the living room where there's better light, but one day there was just too much clutter so I ended up in the bathroom and also downstairs in the stairwell entrance. Needless to say, I was very surprised at the results.
Heaven forbid if my husband comes home and finds me taking food pics upstairs in the attic!

I agree with your hubby. Nothing wrong with feta (YUM!) and nothing wrong with olives. I used both for dinner last night. =} glad to see you back!!

Welcome Moira! I sure have missed your blog. Looking forward to reading more about your 5 week furlough to the states. Those olives look so good! I do love olives but never tried them with feta. Will do that this weekend. Great to have you back!

Hi Reid...I'm so glad to be back! I wish I could send you some of these...do you think dry ice would hold up? ;-)
Hi Rowena...oh please, girl- I don't care WHERE I take a photo, as long as the light's good! I say, if the attic light is warm and diffused, go for it! ;-)
Hi Miss Giao and thank you! I know your dinners must be SO delish! I owe you an email-- I'll be on it tomorrow morning...
Hi Elna...thank you, sweetie! Yes, definitely pop over to Sainsbury's this weekend- they have lots of lovely choices in the olive category, and I'm sure you'll find something to strike your fancy!
Cheers all...

Oh wow - these look fab! Now I REALLY wish you had been able to make it to the UK food bloggers' lunch on Saturday... Feta in olives is a fab combo - you should also try dolcelatte or sun-blush tomatoes in oil - both are amazing combinations!

Posted by: Reid | May 19, 2005 at 11:04 PM
I just hopped on over to see if you had participated in this month's IMBB....I wanted to, well, I did make something, but it tasted just so awful to me that no way am I going to post it. I better head on over to Elise's right now.

Hi Moira,
Is there an email address I can reach you at? I'm writing my honours thesis on food blogs and their role in facilitating cross-cultural flows, and would greatly appreciate your input!
Cheers, Ling

Feta stuffed olives -- something that combines our two-year-old's two favorite items. Yum-o!

Hi Heather...thank you so much!
Hi Miss Sweetnicks...my two-year old like olives, too- but his favourite food these days is my fried egg sandwich (a breakfast fave of mine, I'm afraid) with chipotle ketchup on it! It's rated 6/10! He definitely likes the spicy stuff...

I absolutely love your olives photo. It is spectacular. Actually, I think your photos in general are some of the best food blogging photos around! You really have a good eye.

Hi Lyn...thank you so much! There are so many fantastic photographers with food blogs these days, that I feel as though my efforts aren't up to par. I really appreciate your lovely comments...
