It's time for the fourth edition of Does My Blog Look Good In This?, a monthly food photo contest hosted by the worldly Ronald of Is My Blog Burning?. I've entered a photo for the first time (the one you see above from my post on Cinnamon & Cardamom Buns), thanks to the support and encouragement of so many of you.
Please, vote early and vote often. There are many lovely entries to choose from (you may check up to three on your ballot), and you're sure to find something to tickle your fancy. Of course (naked ambition alert!), I hope my photo is one of those somethings. ;-)
**Edited 25 Feb. 05 to add: Ronald at IMBB? has decided to switch to a panel of judges to choose a winner for DMBLGIT?. If you're interested in participating, drop him a line at: foodphotovote@gmail.com.
I absolutely love this foto. I've never used cardamon for my cinnamon buns before. Good luck with your entry :)

Hi Trisha,
Your cake photo looks great as well! Good luck to you, too.
Hi Ronald,
Thank you!
Hello Ms. Dawn,
Thank you so much- you are *such* a sweetheart!

That is a gorgeous photo. In fact, I think it was these rolls that first got me addicted to your blog, Ms Moi! I am going to vote right now!!

Hi Giao,
Thank you, sweet girl! You are an *amazing* artist yourself- what you come up with every week never ceases to amaze me.
Hi Jillian,
Thank you for stopping by and commenting! I stopped by your blog- you are the quite the cookie queen! I'll be spending some time over there very soon, and I just know my waistline won't be thanking you one little bit.
P.S. I'm a big KCRW fan, too!
Cheers girls,

I think this photo is really amazing...in fact I think it's one of my main competitors for this month's title...damn you! ;-)

Right back at you, funny (and very talented) lady...;-)
Posted by: Moira | February 19, 2005 at 06:09 PM
I voted for you because your picture was the best in composition, technicality, originality, and styling.

Hi Jessica,
Thank you for taking the time to give me such a lovely, thoughtful comment- I really appreciate it.

Moira, I voted for you because this photo makes me want to try to take a bite out of my screen! This also reminds me that I desperately want to try these, and fortunately I'm on school break this week...

Well certainly I will go to vote for those cardamom buns right now!! Because 1.) I made them and they are DEE-LISH-IOUS and 2.) Because well, your great photos speak for themselves.
But getting back to the cardamom...we happened on a chocolate shop over the weekend and found some chocolate flavored with cardamom!! HEAVENLY! Only wish that we'd bought more than a tasting of several different kinds.
Lastly...I stumbled upon this site http://WorldPhotoDay2005.com. I thought maybe you'd be interested in participating!! Now I go to vote....

Moira, I've been to vote for you. To my eye, you have only one competitor for this, and she has already said something about that.
Posted by: Kimberly | February 21, 2005 at 04:07 PM
Hi Julie,
You definitely have to make them while you're on break! I can't wait to hear what you think...
Hi Rowena,
Oh, thank you- and I'm so, so happy that you liked these, too! The cardamom-flavoured chocolate sounds incredible- I will have to try that combination very soon. Thanks for the link to WorldPhotoDay2005; I've just signed up and can't wait to participate!
Hello Kimberly,
Thanks so very much- that is very kind!
I've just read over at IMBB? that Ronald has decided to go to a judges panel for the competition instead of votes. Apparently one entry was the subject of some ballot-box stuffing by friends and completely threw the competition off-kilter. He's looking for volunteer judges in case anyone wants to step up to the plate!
Cheers all,

Oh Moira...we just had these buns with rich hot chocolate after a snow-walk in Central Park...life doesn't get much better than this!
Posted by: Julie | February 21, 2005 at 06:50 PM
Julie, I am thrilled that you liked them! They do sound like they'd be perfect with hot chocolate after a winter's walk...especially through Central Park- brrr!

What a wonderful photo and simply glorious blog. I must peek around a bit and then blogroll you. I hope you do not mind......

Well, rats. No fair. I went to vote today and found out that voting has been disabled! (I'm sure they won't let me be a judge - I might be considered to partisan)

Hi, I am a little late in commenting....these buns are the most typical Finnish sweet roll. Called Korvapusti (rough translation "A Punched Ear") these are made with a soft yeast dough made with milk, butter, and eggs! As is common in this part of the globe it is flavored with cardemum. The cinnamon buns in this picture look exactly like what Granny makes on baking day, if your're lucky. regards from Tampere Finland
